Well…I just wanted to let ya’ll know that putting a pencil up your nose, is not a good idea. Yesterday, we had company, and (like always) something happened. My sister decided to stick a pencil up her nose. Yes, UP her NOSE!!!! So, she is in her room, laying on the floor, a pencil sticking out of her nose, when my other sister (get this) STEPS on the pencil, and her nose, which resulted in the pencil scraping off a bit of skin, and giving her a bloody nose. Then the sister that had the bloody nose, runs to the bathroom, screaming, and crying. At first, I think she is being over-reactive, but then I hear mom rush down the hallway. I hear mom frantically asking her whats wrong, and only getting screaming as a answer. Grandma comes, and mom tells her to “GET SOME ICE! QUICKLY!!!!” I then go into big-sister-freaks-out mode. I dash to the kitchen, where grandma is standing, getting ice. “Whats wrong. How bad is it? I she ok? Is it bad?” I ask, in a nervous, slightly shaky voice. “It sure isn’t good! She’s HURT!” she says. “Well…uh yeah, I knew that but…” my voice began to trail off. I ran to the bedroom, and asked my sister what happened. “I’m not sure, but I think her nose was stepped on while a pencil was up it…” at this, a tiny smile flickered across my face….”A pencil…up her NOSE??” I asked. My sister nodded. I peeked in the bathroom, and saw that the bleeding had slowed down, and the crying was not as urgent. I immediately relaxed. She was fine…she was just surprised to see blood pouring out of her nose. Well, that’s what I thought. I was surprised to hear mom talking about the Emergency room…I heard Grandma offering to drive mom there. Now they were really worked up…not that I would blame them…She had now stopped crying, but they were even more worried now….”It could have punctured her tear duct! She probably has pencil lead in her system now! We really should take her….” I suddenly had this odd urge to laugh….I ran to my room, and burst into a hysterical fit of giggles, laughing at life, and the sheer oddness of having someone shove a pencil up their nose. Don’t get me wrong…I totally felt bad for her, but having someone shove a pencil up their nose, then having two adults go ballistic, while thinking up worst case scenarios, was just….incredibly amusing. I wonder what will happen to me next….
